Saare Jahan Se Achcha “Hindustan” Hamara……Is it so????? India is our country and all are our brothers and sisters, this is our national pledge. All of this was studied in our schools. Had Raj Thackeray studied in school?? Is it fair that innocent people who came to give their railway exam were attacked/ beaten up by some non-sense people? Is any government functioning in our country? Is there any law in our country?? Our government is sleeping and preparing for next elections…ha… and not bothering much about the insane conditions prevailing in our country with such kind of shameful incidents. We very much need leaders who should put forth the issues of progress of local people, local governance .But should local leaders do this at the cost of National integrity and should that be allowed?? "NO”. Anyone like Raj should not be allowed to demolish and destruct the essential fabric of mutual respect, celebration of diversity and care and concern for each other on the name of DEMAND. If this fabric breaks then our future generations will suffer coz once we had Raj amongst us who played dirty politics. We need to keep our emotions aside and start thinking why such incidents happen and why it gets local public support?

Indian Youth should not get misguided by people like these. Violence cannot be justified and nobody is above law. At least that’s what I thought. But it’s a pity Raj Thackeray and other MNS thugs think otherwise.

A true Indian should be working in the interest of Hindustan. I am very sad, disheartened and disgusted at the thought that we have Raj Thackeray kind of politicians who don't even stop by for second to understand the repercussions of their divisive politics. Our court has to pass some strong orders to stop all this non-sense.

Little things in life really makes a difference...

As we all are very busy in our life we spare no time for doing something big that can please somebody in either way. Perhaps we can do some little things that can help or can make others day. Yeah, its true!! As we say, charity begins at home. So let us start from our own house. Yess…… have you ever think of a day when you get up in the morning and say sweet and fresh good morning to your family members, a sugar free kiss at your mum’s cheek!! Cute jaadu ki jhappi to your little sis n brother Namaste to your dadi n dadu. Nahi na……… hey guys these small gestures can touch someone more deeply than you ever could have known.

Sometimes small words and small acts both can be so effective that others feel that yes they are really special. Let me share today’s incident of mine with you that make someone to feel happy. One of my staff members was looking little disturbed due to some reason. I told her unintentionally that today you are looking very beautiful in this purple color suit. She felt happy and suddenly her face turned shining like blossom. I barely thought much about it when I did any of these things. But I was reminded yet again that everything we do matters. Never underestimate the impact you may have on someone!When you are out in the world, remember to be aware of others, lend your hand when one is needed, and give this help without an ulterior motive. Through these small actions, you make this world a better place in which to live.

Subject: Problems with my new computer

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems,
which I want to bring to your notice.

1. There is a button ’start’ but there is no ’stop’ button. We request you to check this.
2. We find there is ‘Run’ in the menu. One of my friends clicked ‘run’ he ran up to Amritsar!

So, we request you to change that to ’sit’, so that we can click that by sitting.
3. One doubt is whether any ‘re-scooter’ is available in system?

I find only ‘re-cycle’, but I own a scooter at my home.
4. There is ‘Find’ button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the
door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ‘ find’ button, but was
unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.
5. My child learnt ‘Microsoft word‘ now he wants to learn ‘Microsoft
sentence’, so when you will provide that?
6. I bought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon
which shows ‘MY Computer’: when you will provide the remaining items?
7. It is surprising that windows says ‘MY Pictures’ but there is not even a
single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.
8. There is ‘MICROSOFT OFFICE‘ what about ‘MICROSOFT HOME’ since I use the
PC at home only.
9. You provided ‘My Recent Documents’. When you will provide ‘My Past Documents’?
10. You provide ‘My Network Places’. For God sake please do not provide ‘My
Secret Places’. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office hours.Regards,

Hello to all !! Ya after a long time................m back to say bye bye to good, magical and blessed year 2007 and to welcome new year 2008 with my open heart! New Year is the time to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the coming year. It is the time to forget and get past memories that are no longer useful or worth pondering upon. It is the time for new beginnings and new starts in life. Sometimes during the day and evening I found myself reflecting on the past year and I too covered the past year and tucked it away into corners of my mind making the way clear for what is to come.

There is an old saying that goes, "Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened".

It is time to start afresh and do things that would make someone else smile.

January first is the start of a new year. It is a mark in time. Each month, week, day, hour, and minute are marks in time. You can’t relive or change what is past but you can choose how you spend your time now and in the future to come. The past is history. History should be used as a learning tool not a ruler of you. Once I asked myself , Am I most beautiful?
My mind said Yes you are !
But m not satisfied.......

Then I saw beautiful flower....
My heart said, my dear its not you its the flower.
I agreed. But at the next moment,
I saw a cute baby looking towards the flower innocently,
showing his feelings through unspoken words through his pious soul,
as his soul try to say I wanna most beautiful thing in my hand...

I went nearby him ..... hey he smiled,
his eyes were reciting the whole story.
Yes he felt that I was the one who could help him.
I took the little cute baby in my arms and
went near the flower..............
Whats this ? I was even more happy than that baby.

I felt, the flower was saying something
I felt, the baby was saying something
I felt something was there..............
Its nothing but inner voice.

I realized .... my heart was saying something..
Hey you are beautiful,
if your soul is beautiful.
Look around you ....
Although all things are not beautiful
But you can make them beautiful.

What's changing rapidly today? Yessssss............ Its Technology !! Its being felt that technology is becoming indispensable part of common man's routine life. Even Bill Gates declared 2000-09 as the "Digital Decade". You can see drastic development in Private sectors. Profit making organisations are using technologies to earn more and more profits.

Its high time my dear fellow friends who are in Library & Information Science Profession. Our Indian libraries are not at par with the other libraries like BCL, ARC (American Resource Centre) etc. Today's generation are technophiles not technophobes. Instead of meeting their friends they fax, phone, e-mail, & chat online. And why not? If technologies are their , facilities are their then its better to use them in a responsible manner. Therefore now its imperative for LIS professionals to strive hard to gain a vision for clientele.

For the betterment of themselves and their institutions or organisations or information centres its essential to equip themselves with the latest technologies, which can be used to impart better services to their customers or clientele. And to keep themselves upto date with latest emerging technologies specially for LIS professionals working with R&D Libraries.

I think Marketing of LICs Products and Services are also very important part to survive in this competitive environment. We have to follow the Kotler's Principles of Marketing in our environment to attract more and more clientele. By this we can generate some money in this hard time where budgets are declining day by day for libraries. We have to generate /Create new sources to provide information expeditiously, pinpointedly from the heap of available information. Ofcourse, Internet is the simple solution to get any type of information yet its not so easy ! You all know that heap of information is available their which are not at all organised, and its not sure that you will find the same information in future. So LIS professionals can make Internet as their Resource and then try to generate/create better sources of information out of it, which can be made available to all, at any time (24X7) in a well organised manner from the library.

So think over it and don't just think of it ! Try it !!

We all know Information is Power !! Knowledge is Power !!

Everywhere we hear of Global Warming! Am I right ? Yah its true........... So let me share ( in short) with you what I read today!

As our planet faces the threat of global warming and environmental pollution, it is the time for computers to go "GREEN" too. Let us take a closer look at the eco-friendly side of computing.

Friends, today all eyes have been glued to the nascent developments taking place in the field of computer technology but no attention has been paid to the rate at which gadgets (computer hardware etc.) are becoming obsolete.The time has comeup to look towards this matter ( i.e. environment friendly use of computer).

Green computing, in simple words, is to use computer responsibly. It includes

to switch off your PC if not in use;
to use energy efficient computer hardware etc. etc.

Do not dump your computer hardware just as a replacement for new gadget.

It is nothing but an ideology and mind-set that every computer user should incorporate. So plz be a part of this good cause.......... which is called as "green Computing". This term has been developed by EPA ( ie. Environmental Protection Agency),US. This is all about "Green Computing" ( in short).

People used to say, uff its very difficult................... but I used to say Life is Beautiful !! Ya its true !!

Come with me ............... you just come and see...... See upside, the beautiful sky cool like a blue sea. Listen the birds magical voice. See the birds flying in a sky with full freedom. See the green grass, tall trees ..... wow everything is so beautiful. Butterflies around the flowers, peaks of mountains covered with white sheet !! Now its the time to meet colorless yet colorful rain drops. Its nice to just sit on a swing and enjoy the ride with garam garam pakodas in the rain. Hey life is full of colors beautiful colors . Try to smell the essense of wet soil in rainy season !! Hey its too cool , its too nice to feel , to experience all that. The seven color rainbow. Hmmm everything on this earth is so beautiful. Enjoy the taste of hokey- pokey. Hitherto its the nature so calm, so quiet, so beautiful. Now feel the innocence of a child, feel the love of parents, feel the naughty fights with your sis and bro, remember the thrilling stories of your dadi ma, remember your school days, remember your college days. Remember the bhel puri outside the college, feel the fun with frnds. Wow all seems too good. To comprehend all these what you need ? Hey just a GOOD HEART !!!! Imperturbable heart !!! Hai na life is beautiful !!!!!!!
